At a difficult moment in actor Rajpal Yadav’s life, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has come forward with a strong and emotional message of support. After reports confirmed that Rajpal Yadav had surrendered in a cheque-bounce case and was lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, Sonu Sood urged the film industry to stand by the veteran actor and also promised to cast him in his next film.

Sonu Sood shared a heartfelt statement on his Instagram Stories, praising Rajpal Yadav’s contribution to Indian cinema. He wrote that Rajpal is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to the industry, and that sometimes life becomes unfair not because of lack of talent, but because of bad timing. Sonu assured that Rajpal will be part of his upcoming film and appealed to producers, directors, and colleagues to support him. He added that offering a small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity but dignity, and said this is how the industry proves it is more than just a workplace.

Sonu’s message quickly went viral, with many people appreciating him for standing by his colleague during such a tough phase.

Rajpal Yadav surrendered following a court order in a cheque-bounce case linked to a loan he took in 2010. He had borrowed Rs 5 crore from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd. to fund his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. Unfortunately, the film did not do well at the box office, making it difficult for him to repay the loan.

Reports say cheques issued by Rajpal and his wife bounced, leading the lender to approach the court. Over time, the liability reportedly increased from Rs 5 crore to nearly Rs 9 crore. Although some payments were made, a large amount remained unpaid.
