Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited film Dhurandhar: The Revenge has finally hit theatres and is already making massive noise at the box office. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film opened with preview shows on March 18 before its grand release on March 19—and the response has been huge.

According to trade tracker reports , the movie earned around Rs 75 crore worldwide from preview shows alone, making it the highest preview collection ever for an Indian film. Despite some early hiccups—like cancelled and delayed shows in India that may lead to ticket refunds—the film is still racing ahead. Reports suggest that Dhurandhar: The Revenge has crossed Rs 100 crore on Day 1 at the domestic box office, with the Hindi version contributing nearly Rs 100 crore by itself. However, regional versions have underperformed due to KDM delivery issues and show cancellations.

The film has now entered the list of the top 5 highest opening day grossers in India, marking a major achievement for Ranveer Singh.

On the review front, reactions have been mixed. Film critic Shubhra Gupta gave it 2 stars, saying it lacks the “mazaa” of the original despite its high-octane action. Still, audiences seem to be enjoying the nearly 4-hour-long spectacle.

Several celebrities, including Allu Arjun, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, and Madhur Bhandarkar, have praised the film. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma even called it “Sholay X 100.”

Well, With such a thunderous start, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is clearly one of the biggest releases of the year.
