Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film King has hit an unexpected hurdle even before one of its biggest sequences could be filmed. The makers had originally planned a grand desert shoot in Dubai starting April, but due to rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the schedule has now been cancelled. Despite having all permissions in place, the team chose to prioritize the safety of the cast and crew.
Instead, the entire sequence has been shifted to Mumbai, where a massive desert-like set is being constructed in Vile Parle. The makers are reportedly investing heavily to recreate the same scale and visual appeal that was initially planned for Dubai, ensuring that the film’s grandeur remains intact.
The cancelled schedule was set to feature a high-octane action sequence involving Suhana Khan and Anil Kapoor alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The scene includes an intense chase followed by a dramatic combat segment. Interestingly, filming in a controlled studio environment may now allow for more precision and flexibility in executing these complex action scenes.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King boasts a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film also marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first on-screen collaboration with his daughter Suhana Khan, making it even more special for fans.
After his last appearance in Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan returns in a completely new avatar, reportedly playing a complex assassin who trains a young woman—adding emotional depth to the action-packed storyline.
Well, Despite the sudden change, the team has ensured that the schedule remains unaffected. King is set for a grand theatrical release on December 24, 2026, and is already shaping up to be one of the biggest films of the year.
