Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has been hospitalised after suffering a haemorrhage and undergoing surgery, as per media reports. The 90-year-old writer was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday morning and is currently on ventilator support. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable but he remains under close medical observation.

Dr. Jalil Parkar shared an update about his health, stating, “He has undergone surgery and is now kept on a ventilator. His condition is stable now. At 11 am on Wednesday, we will issue a press bulletin with the consent of the family and relatives.” He further added that Salim Khan is being closely monitored with regard to his clinical status.

As soon as news of his hospitalisation broke, members of the Khan family rushed to the hospital to be with him. Bollywood star Salman Khan was seen outside the hospital after visiting his father. Other family members present included Arbaaz Khan, Arpita Khan Sharma, and grandsons Nirvaan and Arhaan.

Several close friends from the film industry also visited the hospital. Actor Sanjay Dutt and legendary lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar were seen arriving to check on the veteran screenwriter.

Former actress Somy Ali also shared an emotional message on Instagram. She said that hearing about his hospitalisation made her heart sink and described him as a father figure. She recalled living in his home, being treated like a daughter, and having deep conversations about faith where all religions were respected and celebrated. She prayed for his strength and speedy recovery.
