Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is going through a difficult time as his father, legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after suffering a brain haemorrhage. The news has deeply worried the Khan family and fans across the country.

According to reports, Salim Khan is being treated by Dr. Jalil Parkar. On 18 February 2026, the doctor informed the media that Salim Khan is now out of danger but is currently on ventilator support. He added that the veteran writer’s condition is stable and a team of doctors is closely monitoring his health.

However, the situation has reportedly upset Salman Khan and his family. A close source told Variety that the family is unhappy because Salim Khan’s medical details were shared with the media without their permission. The family believes that health matters are private and should not be discussed publicly. Salman has reportedly asked the hospital administration and doctors not to share any further updates without the family’s consent.

After hearing about his hospitalisation, several celebrities visited him, including Javed Akhtar, Sanjay Dutt, Sangeeta Bijlani and others. Family members were also present at the hospital, praying for his recovery.

Well, Salim Khan, born on 24 November 1935 in Indore, is one of Hindi cinema’s most respected writers. Along with Javed Akhtar, he wrote iconic films like Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer and Don. His contribution to Indian cinema remains unforgettable.
