Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli recently grabbed headlines after he openly praised the film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar. Taking to Instagram, Kohli described the movie as a “powerful and emotional experience,” saying he had never seen anything like it in Indian cinema before. He added that the nearly four-hour-long film kept him completely hooked without a single dull moment.
Kohli also showered praise on director Aditya Dhar, calling him a “genius” and applauding his storytelling and execution. While appreciating the entire cast, he gave special mention to Ranveer Singh, saying the actor has “attained a different level” and delivered a “beyond brilliant” performance.

However, Kohli’s glowing review triggered mixed reactions online. While many fans supported him, several netizens criticised his post. Some users claimed the review felt “paid” and accused him of not genuinely caring about Bollywood. Others went further, calling the film “propaganda” and questioning Kohli’s image as a “gentleman.”
Despite the controversy, the film has performed exceptionally well at the box office. It came close to surpassing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion but missed the mark by ₹6.65 crore. On Day 19, it earned ₹10 crore net across 13,736 shows, with a 14.2% occupancy rate.
Well, So far, the film has collected ₹1,023.77 crore net in India and ₹1,225.72 crore gross. Worldwide, it stands at an impressive ₹1,622.72 crore, including ₹397 crore from overseas, making it the third highest-grossing Indian film internationally.
