Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is reportedly recovering well and may soon be discharged from the hospital. His son, actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan, recently shared a positive update about his father’s health, bringing relief to fans and the film industry.

Salim Khan has been undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for nearly a month. On Wednesday night, after attending an Iftar event in Mumbai, Arbaaz spoke briefly to reporters and confirmed that his father’s condition is improving. Offering reassurance, he said, “He’s better now, he’s improving.” When asked about the veteran writer’s discharge, Arbaaz smiled and replied, “Soon.”

The 90-year-old screenwriter was admitted to the hospital on February 17 after reportedly suffering a mild brain haemorrhage. Shortly after being admitted, he underwent a minor medical procedure and has since been under close observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Doctors have described his condition as stable while continuing routine monitoring.

Salim Khan’s treatment is being led by Dr. Jalil Parkar, who had earlier stated that the family requested privacy regarding the veteran writer’s health. Because of this, no detailed medical updates have been shared publicly until Arbaaz’s recent statement.

Since his hospitalisation, the Khan family had maintained silence, even as several friends and members of the film fraternity visited to check on him. Actors like Aamir Khan, Chitrangda Singh, and Daisy Shah had earlier assured fans during brief interactions that Salim Khan was recovering well.

Along with his legendary writing partner Javed Akhtar, he created some of Bollywood’s most iconic films, including Andaz, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Don, and Mr. India.
