Actor Salman Khan has shifted the shoot of his upcoming film Battle of Galwan from Film City to Mehboob Studio to stay near his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, who is currently hospitalized.
Salim Khan, 90, was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on February 17 after suffering a minimal brain haemorrhage. He was briefly put on a ventilator, and a minor medical procedure was performed the following day. Hospital authorities later confirmed that he is stable and recovering, though he continues to remain under observation and respond to treatment.
Amid this, Salman has ensured that the film’s schedule continues without interruption. Sources say he is currently shooting an elaborate song sequence that is expected to wrap in the coming days. Moving the shoot to Mehboob Studio allows him to stay close to the hospital while managing a large crew and ongoing production requirements.
A source close to the actor revealed that Salman wanted to maintain a balance between work and family responsibilities. Between takes and during breaks, he stays in constant touch with doctors and family members to keep track of his father’s progress.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan focuses on the June 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers at the border. Salman plays PVC recipient Colonel B Santosh Babu, who led Indian troops during the confrontation.
The film is currently slated for release on April 17, though recent reports suggest it could be postponed to mid-August. If rescheduled, it may face a box-office clash with Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947, which is set to release on August 13, 2026.
