TV actress Jannat Zubair has come out in strong support of her close friend Ashnoor Kaur after the Bigg Boss 19 housemates made hurtful remarks about her body. The incident has created a buzz online, with fans and celebrities condemning the contestants for their insensitive behavior.

During a recent episode of Bigg Boss 19, contestants Kunickaa Sadanand, Tanya Mittal, and Neelam Giri made derogatory comments about Ashnoor’s body. In one clip that went viral, Neelam pointed toward Ashnoor—who was standing with fellow contestant Pranit More—and mockingly asked Kunickaa and Tanya, “Jurassic Park dekhoge?” (Will you see Jurassic Park?). Kunickaa laughed at the comment, while Tanya and Neelam went on to discuss Ashnoor’s “weight gain.”

Tanya reportedly said that Ashnoor seems to have put on weight even though she works out regularly. She also remarked that the actress has started to “look like her mother.” Fans quickly called out the contestants for body shaming, saying such comments are unacceptable in 2025.

Reacting to the incident, Jannat Zubair took to her Instagram Story to stand by Ashnoor. She wrote:

A person’s body is not public property for jokes and opinions. It’s 2025 — we should’ve evolved past body shaming by now. She’s on that stage because she’s talented, confident, and unstoppable, not because she fits someone’s idea of a ‘perfect body.’ Proud of you @ashnoorkaur for holding your head high and being You! 🤍”

Jannat’s statement quickly gained traction, with fans praising her for using her platform to speak against body shaming and for supporting her friend.

Ashnoor’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star and former Bigg Boss 10 contestant Rohan Mehra also voiced his support. He wrote on social media:

Body shaming is unacceptable. What happened to @ashnoorkaur today was wrong and needs to be called out. Respect and kindness should be the bare minimum. Shame on you, @iam_kunickaasadanand, @neelamgiri_, and @tanyamittalofficial.”

Rohan and Ashnoor, who played siblings on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, share a strong bond, and his post added more weight to the criticism aimed at the Bigg Boss 19 contestants.

Social media has since been flooded with posts demanding that the show’s makers address the incident. Many viewers pointed out that body shaming should not be tolerated on national television and urged for stricter action.
