Prime Video India has officially greenlit Season 2 of the hit reality show The Traitors, following the massive success of its first season. The Indian adaptation of the globally popular, BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning format has quickly become a fan-favorite and a social media sensation.

Hosted by popular filmmaker and talk show host Karan Johar, The Traitors Season 1 premiered on June 12 and has been releasing new episodes every Thursday. Set against the majestic backdrop of a palace in Suryagarh, Rajasthan, the show brings together 20 well-known celebrities from various corners of the entertainment industry in what is described as “the ultimate game of trust and deception.”

The star-studded cast of Season 1 includes Anshula Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Nourouzi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Jasmin Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, Lakshmi Manchu, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Raftaar, Raj Kundra, Sudhanshu Pandey, and Uorfi Javed, among others. These players are challenged to spot the traitors among them while trying to avoid elimination themselves.

In the game, a few contestants are secretly chosen as traitors, and the rest—known as the faithful—must work together to uncover and eliminate them. But with lies, manipulation, and strategy playing a key role, trust becomes the biggest challenge.

The show has quickly become a pop culture phenomenon, reaching audiences in 88% of India’s post codes. Viewers have taken to social media to share reactions, theories, and support for their favorite contestants, turning the show into a trending topic weekly.
