After living at Mumbai's iconic Galaxy Apartments for over 52 years, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to move into a newly constructed six-storey family home on Chimbai Road in Bandra West.

Galaxy Apartments has been the Khan family's home for decades and a landmark where thousands of fans gathered every year to catch a glimpse of Salman from his balcony.

The apartment holds special memories for the family. Salman’s father, legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, bought the flat after the massive success of Zanjeer (1973), nearly 14 years after he arrived in Bombay from Indore to pursue a career in films.

Before finding success, Salim Khan struggled financially. He stayed at Marina Guest House, shared a room that cost Rs55 per month, worked in small acting roles and advertisements, and later shifted to screenwriting. His partnership with Javed Akhtar made Salim-Javed one of Bollywood’s most successful writing duos.

Well Now, after more than five decades at Galaxy Apartments, the Khan family is preparing to begin a new chapter by moving into their new residence in Bandra West.
