Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has reportedly undergone a minor eye surgery in Mumbai and will now take a short break from shooting to recover. According to reports, the procedure took place on the morning of May 6, 2026, and was done for vision correction. Sources close to the actor shared that the surgery was minor and successful.

The actor recently wrapped the Kerala schedule of his upcoming film directed by Anees Bazmee. The movie also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna in important roles. After completing the schedule, Akshay decided to take some time off to rest and recuperate.

On Tuesday, Akshay shared the update about finishing the Kerala shoot on Instagram. He wrote, “Keralam schedule wrapped! Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place. Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya, Raashii, Chota Rajpal and the entire crew! This one’s been special.”

Meanwhile, Akshay is also enjoying the success of his latest film Bhooth Bangla. The film has performed very well at the box office, earning Rs. 146.50 crore net in India and Rs. 231.03 crore worldwide.

Well, Apart from Anees Bazmee’s upcoming project, Akshay has several exciting films lined up, including Golmaal 5, Haiwaan, Welcome To The Jungle, and Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. While Golmaal 5 and Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat are expected to release in 2027, Haiwaan is likely to hit theatres in August 2026. Welcome To The Jungle is currently scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
