Ranveer Singh’s exit from Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited film Don 3 has once again become a talking point, with reports claiming that the actor may have been asked to pay a compensation of nearly ₹40 crore. However, it is important to note that no official confirmation has been made by either Ranveer Singh or Excel Entertainment regarding this claim.

Don 3 was officially announced in 2023 with Ranveer Singh stepping into the iconic role previously played by Shah Rukh Khan. The announcement created massive buzz, but the film soon faced delays, leading to speculation about its future. Eventually, reports emerged that Ranveer had exited the project due to creative differences.

According to media reports, Ranveer’s departure caused significant financial loss to Excel Entertainment. The production house reportedly spent heavily on development, planning, scheduling, and pre-production work. Several departments had already begun preparations, and some heads of departments were later asked to pause work or look for other projects. Based on these losses, it is being claimed that Excel believes Ranveer should compensate the production house.

On the other hand, Ranveer Singh has strongly denied these reports. As per sources, the actor stated that he walked out because he was not satisfied with the script. He reportedly asked for multiple changes and was unhappy with the final draft. Excel, however, claims that pre-production began only after Ranveer gave his approval.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently gearing up for Dhurandhar 2, the sequel to Dhurandhar, which was released in December 2025 and proved to be a success.

Well As of now, the ₹40 crore compensation issue remains unconfirmed and speculative, with no official statement from either side.
