23rd April 2026, Mumbai : On Tum Ho Naa , an emotional and thought provoking moment came to life as Rajeev Khandelwal shared a heartfelt exchange with contestant Poonam and her husband, beautifully highlighting the essence of shared responsibilities and redefining conventional roles within a marriage.
During the interaction, Rajeev asked Poonam what she would do with the prize money if she won. Poonam shared that she planned to renovate her kitchen. Curious, Rajeev asked whether she would buy something for her husband instead. In a beautiful revelation, Poonam explained that the renovation itself was for her husband, as he is the one who cooks every day.
Adding to the exchange, Poonam’s husband shared that he also keeps the fast of Karwa Chauth for his wife, saying, “365 din mein ek hi din aata hai, ek din toh sacrifice kar sakta hai har husband apni wife ke liye.” His gesture drew applause from the audience and highlighted the couple’s mutual respect and love.
Rajeev, moved by their story, opened up about his own life, saying, “Aap har roz inke liye khana banate hain, aur main bhi har roz apni wife ke liye chai banata hoon. Aapko pata hai, har roz subah garam paani deta hoon.” He added that he would speak more about this later, subtly emphasizing that care and responsibility in a household should be shared.
He further appreciated Poonam’s intention to spend the prize money on making the kitchen more comfortable for her husband, recognizing it as a thoughtful and loving gesture. When Rajeev asked if there was a special reason behind her husband cooking daily, he responded emotionally, “Meri life se mere mom-dad ke jaane ke baad, mera ghar jo sambhala hai, woh Poonam ne hi sambhala hai.” The emotion in his words connected instantly, earning a warm applause from the audience.
Reflecting on the moment, Rajeev remarked, “I think bahut kam ladies aisi hoti hongi jo shayad is mukaam tak pahunch paati hain apni life mein, jahan par husband actually ek sofa pe baith ke yeh bole, main har roz uske liye khana banata hoon, aur aane wale saalon tak poore jeevan mein uske liye khana banana chahunga.”
Through this exchange, Rajeev Khandelwal conveyed that roles are not defined by gender, but by love, care, and partnership, highlighting that true relationships thrive on equality and shared responsibilities.
