As Border 2 marches ahead with a thunderous box-office run, one performance has quietly sparked curiosity among audiences. Amidst the roar of tanks, explosions and war cries, viewers have been asking a single question: Who is the intense officer standing resolutely beside Sunny Deol?

That commanding presence belongs to Pranav Vashisht, who essays the role of Lieutenant Ajit Singh - Sunny Deol’s trusted aide in the film. With an unmistakable screen gravitas, Pranav delivers a performance that holds its ground even in the shadow of one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic war heroes.
While Sunny Deol brings his trademark thunder to the battlefield, Pranav complements it with quiet discipline and controlled intensity—an approach that has clearly struck a chord with audiences.

Reflecting on the experience, Pranav shares, “Sharing the frame with Sunny Deol sir is surreal. For someone who comes from a theatre background, being on the sets of Border 2 felt like film school set on a battlefield. The scale was massive, and it demanded a level of discipline and focus that truly pushed me as an actor.”
Interestingly, Pranav’s journey to Border 2 has been anything but conventional. Before donning the army uniform, he was seen in a completely different avatar as ‘Pamma’ in Imtiaz Ali’s critically acclaimed film Amar Singh Chamkila. Beyond acting, Pranav also worked closely behind the scenes on the project as a Director’s Assistant and Casting Assistant, collaborating with renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra—a phase that sharpened his understanding of storytelling and performance.
“I grew up watching Border on a small television. To suddenly find myself standing next to Sunny sir in the same franchise felt like life coming full circle. For me, it wasn’t just about playing a soldier—it was about earning my stripes as an actor.”
Pranav also credits director Anurag Singh for shaping his performance with precision. “Anurag sir has immense clarity as a filmmaker. He guided me to keep the performance grounded and truthful, even in the most high-octane sequences. That trust gave me the confidence to hold my own in a very crowded frame,” he adds.
With audiences actively searching for the ‘intense lieutenant from Border 2,’ Pranav Vashisht’s powerful performance has unmistakably announced his arrival. In a film defined by scale and spectacle, he proves that sometimes, it’s quiet conviction that leaves the strongest impact.
