Without naming anyone, Shahid revealed how he once felt 'lesser' as an artist and a star, leaving fans speculating that he was referring to his experience during the making of Padmaavat.

In the podcast, Shahid shared, “This happened to me before Kabir Singh. There was a time when I felt like I was made to feel lesser. Nobody forced me directly, but as an artist, a star, and an individual, I found myself in a situation where I felt like I wasn’t enough. It was like being in a place where someone else’s clothes looked better than mine. Life sometimes puts you in situations where you feel overshadowed, and that’s what happened to me. It’s nobody’s fault, but I went through it and fought my way out of it.”

After Shahid’s statement went viral, netizens linked his comments to his time on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. Shahid had previously mentioned feeling like an ‘outsider’ while working on the film, where he starred alongside Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
