Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has officially dropped the trailer of his highly-anticipated reality show The Traitors, and the internet can’t stop talking about it. Set inside a lavish and mysterious palace, this gripping new show promises betrayal, mind games, and daily eliminations—all for a grand prize.
Hosted by the ever-dramatic Karan Johar, The Traitors brings together 20 well-known contestants, including rapper Raftaar, Apoorva Mukhija (aka Rebel Kid), Jannat Zubair, and social media sensation Uorfi Javed. Others joining the game include Purav Jha, Karan Kundrra, Harsh Gujral, Ashish G Vidyarthi, Jasmine Bhasin, Lakshmi Manchu, Elnaaz Norouzi, Nikita Luther, Anshula Kapoor, Raj Kundra, Janvi Gaur, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sahil Salathia, and Sufi Motiwala.

In the dramatic trailer, Karan introduces the audience to a group of “seedhe saadhe log” living together in a palace while playing a seemingly “sweet game.” But things quickly take a dark turn. At the start of the game, three contestants are secretly chosen as “traitors.” These traitors will “murder” one innocent player each night, while the rest must figure out who the traitors are and vote them out.
The tension is real, with contestants accusing and defending each other. Raftaar is seen dramatically saying, “If I am the traitor, I’ll leave rapping,” while Uorfi ups the ante, promising to shave her head if she’s a traitor. Emotional breakdowns follow, as Jasmin, Apoorva, and Jannat are seen crying and confessing, “This game is too hard.”
Social media had mixed reactions. While some fans compared it to a “sasta Bigg Boss,” others were intrigued, calling it a mashup of Roadies, Splitsvilla, and Bigg Boss. One user even said, “This looks more interesting than Bigg Boss.”
Well, The Traitors is the Indian adaptation of the global hit show, made in collaboration with All3Media International and BBC Studios India Production. The show will stream new episodes every Thursday at 8 PM on Prime Video starting June 12. Get ready for drama, deception, and high-stakes gameplay like never before!
