Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has never been one to hold back, and he once again proved it when he clapped back at a troll who mocked him online. After praising the debut performances of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the recently released romantic drama Saiyaara, Karan received a harsh comment calling him “Nepo kid ka daijaan” (nanny of a star kid). But the filmmaker didn’t stay silent.

In response to the troll, Karan hit back with a powerful reply. He wrote, “@sometimesasil chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithe negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar” (Shut up! Don’t sit at home nurturing negativity. Look at the work of these two kids and do something yourself).

The incident occurred on July 21, just three days after Saiyaara hit the big screens. The film, directed by Mohit Suri, has already become a box office hit, collecting ₹83 crore in its opening weekend. Karan took to social media to celebrate the film’s success and share his heartfelt appreciation.

He posted, “I don’t remember the last time I felt like this after watching a film …. Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy… Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love…”

He continued by praising the production, “Proudest that my Alma mater @yrf has brought love back!!! Adi, I love you and I’m proud to say I’m a YRF student for life! @awidhani what a debut as producer!”

Karan also gave a special shoutout to director Mohit Suri, calling his storytelling, direction, and music “magnificent.”

Most notably, he praised the debutants, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. “What a debut @ahaanpandayy !!!! You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker… your eyes spoke volumes. @aneetpadda_, you gorgeous girl… your silences, vulnerability, and strength moved me to tears.”

Saiyaara tells the story of love, loss, and healing. Ahaan plays Krish Kapoor, a young singer, and Aneet plays Vaani Batra, a former singer who now writes music. As they collaborate on a song, love blossoms between them.

Well, The film’s touching storyline and fresh performances have clearly struck a chord—not only with the audience but with Karan Johar too.
