Salman Khan’s much-awaited film Sikandar hit the theatres on March 30, 2025. Directed by AR Murugadoss, this action thriller marks Salman’s return to the big screen with an Eid release after two years. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Randeep Hooda, and Prateik Babbar in key roles. Despite being a highly anticipated movie, Sikandar has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.

On its opening day, Sikandar managed to collect around Rs 26 crore in India. The film showed slight growth on Eid (March 31, 2025), bringing in Rs 29 crore on its first Monday. In just two days, Sikandar has earned a total of Rs 55 crore in India.
Additionally, the movie has performed decently in the global market, with its worldwide collection ranging between Rs 10-15 crore. This takes the overall earnings beyond Rs 60 crore so far. Despite these numbers, the film’s performance hasn’t been as strong as expected, considering its massive release across 5,500 screens in India.
While Sikandar’s earnings are not record-breaking for a Salman Khan film, it has still managed to surpass the first Monday collection of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava. The historical period drama had made Rs 24 crore on its first Monday, while Sikandar earned Rs 29 crore. This makes it the highest first Monday grosser of 2025 in Bollywood so far.
Despite a strong box office opening, Sikandar has not received a warm response on social media. Many Salman Khan fans have expressed disappointment over the film’s weak storyline, outdated CGI, and unimpressive acting. While some have appreciated the action sequences, others feel that the film does not match Salman’s previous Eid releases in terms of quality and entertainment value.
After Sikandar, Salman Khan is set to return in Kick 2, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. This film is a sequel to his 2014 blockbuster Kick, where he will reprise his famous role as ‘Devil’ in another action-packed thriller.
Well, With Sikandar’s performance still unfolding, it remains to be seen how the film will fare in the coming weeks.
