The Race franchise, a popular Bollywood thriller series, is gearing up for a thrilling comeback. Launched in 2008 with Saif Ali Khan in the lead role, the series quickly became a fan favorite. Saif reprised his role in the 2013 sequel, but the third installment in 2018 saw Salman Khan take over as the lead. Despite high expectations, the 2018 film, directed by Remo D'Souza, failed to impress at the box office.

In a major development, producer Ramesh Taurani is set to revive the franchise with a fourth installment. According to reports, Saif Ali Khan will return to lead the upcoming film. Sources close to the project reveal that Saif has been in discussions with Taurani for some time, and the decision to reboot the franchise with Saif back at the helm is official. Saif, enthusiastic about his return, is expected to start filming in early 2024.

The fourth film will feature a new script, though the basic plot has already been decided. The makers are on the lookout for a fresh and credible director to guide this next chapter of the Race saga. Alongside Saif, fans can expect a grand ensemble cast, although specific names are yet to be announced.

This news comes after a period of tension between Saif and the franchise, as Saif was reportedly upset when Salman Khan replaced him in the third film. However, it seems any past issues have been resolved, as Saif prepares to dive back into the action-packed world of Race.

Apart from this exciting news, Saif Ali Khan is also set to appear in several other projects this year. He will be seen in the Telugu film Devara: Part 1, alongside Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, and will feature in Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller, where Bobby Deol will play the antagonist. On the other hand, Salman Khan will be seen next in AR Murugadoss' Sikandar, releasing during Eid next year, and will also return in his devilish role in Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick 2.
