Munawar Faruqui, the winner of Bigg Boss 17 and popular stand-up comedian, faced a serious security scare in Delhi on Sunday. He was attending the Entertainers Cricket League 2024 event at the IGI Indoor Stadium when authorities received a tip about a potential threat to his life.

Faruqui was staying at The Suryaa Hotel during his visit when the Delhi Police acted swiftly on a tip-off about a threat. The police had been investigating a separate shooting incident in Greater Kailash-I that left businessman Nadir Shah dead. During questioning, the suspects in the shooting revealed they had scouted The Suryaa Hotel, raising concerns that they were planning a targeted killing.

Initially, it wasn't clear who the target was, but as the investigation progressed, authorities uncovered a disturbing possibility – Munawar Faruqui could be the intended victim.

In response, the Delhi Police quickly ramped up security measures. They secured both the IGI Indoor Stadium, where a cricket match between the Haryanvi Hunters and Mumbai Disruptors was taking place, and The Suryaa Hotel, where Faruqui was staying. Fellow artist and YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who was also part of the cricket event, was staying in the same hotel.

The situation at IGI Stadium became tense as police officers rushed in to assess the threat, leading to the evacuation of people. Videos showing the chaos quickly spread on social media, as fans were seen leaving the stadium amidst growing safety concerns.

At The Suryaa Hotel, a separate police team led by DCP Pratiksha Godara carefully inspected the premises, focusing on entry and exit points. Faruqui, who was staying on the first floor, was in close proximity to the area that the suspects had surveyed. Plainclothes officers were stationed throughout the hotel, and security was tightened to ensure his safety.

Well, Despite being initially reluctant, Faruqui eventually agreed to leave Delhi after police persuasion. He later explained that his departure was due to a flight, but declined to reveal further details for security reasons. The investigation into the threat continues, as authorities work to ensure the comedian’s safety.
