Popular television actress Dipika Kakar has finally spoken out after undergoing a major 14-hour surgery for stage 2 liver cancer. In a recent vlog shared by her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, fans saw Dipika for the first time post-surgery — looking fragile yet emotional, and slowly getting back on her feet.

Dipika, who couldn’t celebrate Eid this year due to her hospitalization, received Eidi from her family at the hospital. Shoaib’s vlog began with glimpses of Dipika trying to walk and eat on her own, marking signs of progress in her recovery. Shoaib informed fans that her health reports have been improving, though the recovery journey has been anything but easy.

He shared that Dipika had suffered from intense coughing and severe pain around her stitches. These complications made the early days post-surgery very difficult. “She finally got some good sleep after three days in the ICU,” Shoaib said, adding that Dipika’s biggest fear was being alone in the ICU. “ICU ke naam se vo bahut ghabra rahi thi,” he revealed. She kept saying, “Shoaib, mai ICU mein akele hogi,” clearly showing her anxiety and fear.

Shoaib also mentioned that Dipika found the medical tubes in her nose extremely uncomfortable. To protect her from any risk of infection, Shoaib took charge of everything himself. He did not allow any family members to visit Dipika in the hospital, including their son Ruhaan, who was not permitted to stay overnight. Shoaib expressed deep gratitude to their family for taking care of Ruhaan in Dipika’s absence.

Towards the end of the vlog, Dipika got teary-eyed and thanked all her fans and well-wishers, along with the hospital staff who cared for her. Shoaib shared that the surgery had left her emotionally sensitive. Viewers also saw Dipika being comforted by her mother and Shoaib’s mother. The most touching moment came when Ruhaan hugged his mom and played with her in the hospital room, bringing a smile to Dipika’s face.
