Entrepreneur and content creator Tanya Mittal has strongly reacted after a Filmygyan journalist referred to her as a “sasti copy” of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star Shalini Passi. The remark quickly sparked attention, and Tanya used her Instagram Stories on July 1 to express her
disappointment.
Calling the comment “the height of shamelessness,” Tanya wrote, “Calling a woman a ‘Sasti copy’ isn’t journalism, it’s cheap, sexist commentary.” She also questioned how a media platform could speak about a woman in such a disrespectful way. Making her stance clear, she added, “I’m not @shalini.passi. I’m Tanya Mittal. And my journey is my own.”

The controversy began when the reporter not only compared Tanya to Shalini Passi but also claimed that all she does is show off her wealth. Tanya rejected the claims and shared the struggles behind her success. She revealed that 10 years ago, she dropped out of college and went against her family’s wishes to avoid an early marriage. Although the decision was difficult, she wanted to build a different life for herself. She started by selling greeting cards and gradually built her own identity as an entrepreneur and creator.
Tanya also pointed out that this kind of criticism is not new. During her time on Bigg Boss 19, she faced constant trolling. Contestants called her fake, TV panels criticized her clothes, and even her temple videos became the target of online mockery. According to Tanya, people ignored her years of hard work and instead focused on her appearance, lifestyle, privilege, and comparisons with others.
After Bigg Boss 19, Tanya continued to focus on entrepreneurship, culture, and content creation. Responding to the ongoing criticism, she said, “No amount of trolling, lies, or disrespect can erase ten years of pain, struggle, and relentless hard work.”
Well , She also highlighted a larger issue, saying that female reality stars are often compared with one another, judged for their wealth, clothes, and lifestyle, while their achievements are overlooked. Tanya believes labels like “copy” take away a woman’s individuality and urged people to understand someone’s journey before passing judgment. She ended by asking the media to “report facts, not cheap insults for clicks.”
