Zee TV’s Jagriti- Ek Nayi Subah has impressed the audience with its intriguing storyline. The story is now taking an emotional as one of its most impactful characters, Kalikant is reaching his much-awaited conclusion. Kalikant has been one of the most loved villains on television. He has emerged as a powerful, layered character whose journey has been deeply entwined with the narrative. The show is now all set to bid farewell to the character and actor Aarya Babbar who made everyone fall in love with Kalikant reflects on the end of a role that has been both creatively fulfilling and emotionally significant.

He said, “I think I’m going to miss everything about Kalikant and the show, Jagriti- Ek Nayi Subah. Kalikant and the show are deeply intertwined, they truly go hand in hand. The way the writing and creative teams have worked on the show was remarkable. As a team, the effort put into shaping Jagriti- Ek Nayi Subah and especially Kalikant was incredible. They made Kalikant a larger-than-life character, and as an actor, I truly enjoyed playing him. At the same time, I understand as a performer that every role has a beginning, a middle, and an end. I’m genuinely excited for the audience to watch Kalikant’s closure. I believe viewers will feel satisfied when they see how his journey concludes. A villain like Kalikant had to meet his end and receive a proper closure, just like the rest of the characters. That sense of completion made the farewell meaningful but it was really difficult to bid goodbye to Kalikant.”

What made Kalikant stand out was not just his menace, but the emotional depth with which he was portrayed. Aarya Babbar shares how approaching the character from a humane lens shaped his performance.

“The most challenging part was finding an honest and authentic voice for Kalikant. I never approached him as a typical antagonist. Instead, I played him as a deeply human character. He genuinely believes that whatever he does is right. Much like how characters such as Ravan are perceived, in their own eyes and even by others, they don’t see themselves as villains, that's how I viewed Kalikant. My perception and performance always came from the belief that he is humane. His emotions, his relationships, his romance with his wives, his unique way of speaking everything came together to shape him. There’s also a layer of sarcasm and subtle humor to Kalikant, despite him being a negative character. Balancing all these aspects was both challenging and incredibly enjoyable,” he shared.

As Jagriti- Ek Nayi Subah’s story moves towards a new angle, Kalikant’s end promises to deliver a powerful and satisfying closure for viewers who have followed his journey closely. What changes will Kalikant’s end bring in for Suraj and Jagriti?
